Yeast Infection Home Test Kit

Do you know what causes yeast infection? It is the fungi present in your skin. A damp and moist area is needed for the fungi to grow. The damper it is, the more the fungi grow. Yeast infection is caused by a shift in the location of fungal growth. Though the skin is capable to tackle any fungal infection, any breaks in the skin can cause organisms to enter.

A child would never get yeast infection. Only adult women get affected by it. When a child gets oral thrush, it does not affect any other part of the body. As the child grows, any parent would hear of such misconceptions. Unfortunately children, like anyone else, may be affected by Candida infection, which may not be limited to the oral area. For such infections to occur, a warm and moist environment is needed.

Yeast infection causes:

The diapers of your toddler who is just learning toilet habits would be the ideal place for Candida to settle as it simply loves a wet and warm place. Candida thrives in wet and moist environment. So those cute folds and the areas which are normally covered by diapers are places where it grows. It looks more or less like thrush with those white lumps and smelling like rising bread. Take special care during summer months to keep your baby dry and clean. This would help in the prevention of yeast infection.

The reason why yeast infection is mostly found in women is because their genital area has several folds where Candida can develop. So why do boy children get affected as well? because they also wear diapers. Think this over: what causes diaper rash would also cause Candida overgrowth, so your precautionary measures should also be the same for the baby daughter as well as for your baby son.

Warning signals for yeast infection:

The symptoms of yeast infection would largely vary according to the site of infection. If the infection occurs in the vagina then the woman would feel a burning sensation accompanied by a vaginal discharge which is thick and white or thin and watery. The most frequent symptom for oral thrush would be some thick white patches on top of swollen red skin in the mouth. Though it may not itch as it does with other outer skin infections, but the area becomes very sensitive and may even bleed with the removal of the white part. Remember this would cause a great amount of pain during eating and drinking, so keep your child adequately hydrated.

Remain alert for early symptoms of yeast infections. Although this may not be anything too dangerous, it could become complicated if you leave it just like that. The symptoms which are mentioned above are the most common ones however, should you require further advice speak to your doctor.
