Eat Fruits Regularly
Antioxidants are nature's way to fight illness and disease; they are found in a wide variety of plants. Found in various forms in fruits and vegetables, they contain nutrients that work with our own nutrients to combat many common but serious illnesses in addition to disease. Although only nine hundred if these phytonutrients have been discovered so far it is the scientist opinion that many more will be found and will change tomorrows health care needs; huge advances in preventative health care and nutrition are advancing at an almost daily rate. There has been a whole host of discoveries made into the properties of these phytonutrients; blueberries, pomegranates can reduce the signs of aging, whereas cherries can help relieve joint pain.
Blueberries are one of the top quality fruits containing plenty of antioxidants while maintaining lower sugar content then most other fruits. The easiest way to inject concentrated amounts of these fruits is by drinking juice every day; many benefits have been found including an improvement in our circulatory system and an increase in our own ability to ward of illness. The other properties of antioxidants include the ability to fight disease as well. Even the humble apple is not immune with properties to help ward of heart problems.
Citrus fruits can be helpful because of the phytochemicals they contain. Tart cherries for instance have a number of properties which work together to help people who have arthritis, gout and fibromyalgia. This extends to the vitamins B, C and E plus other minerals which have these properties which are already widely known and used. A large group of common berries also contain specialized antioxidants called Phytoalexins (resveratrol); these have anti-viral and anti-fungal properties that can be of benefit to people.
Many aging conditions, including Alzheimer's, can be treated with some of these. Others found in tomatoes make this one super-food in the prevention of heart disease. Although quite large quantities are needed so using tomato juice, puree or sauce which are all concentrates has been found to be the best way to increase the level of the antioxidants in our food. Some of the most important phytonutrients so far found have been discovered in watermelons. Now you know the benefits of these fruits to your health, there is no longer any reason not to use them more regularly.
