Need for Affordable Insurance Policies
Today in America, many more of its population is in need of affordable health care. Some employers for hardworking employees have had to cut back on some of the health care for everyone because of the rising costs and working with a budget. It wasn't that long ago that I had a fantastic health plan but all that has changed. Out of the blue the company decided to change their health care provider because it was costing them too much.
To make the system fair to everyone, the health care provider would need to change. Many people I've spoken to are happy with the new insurance and that I am just as well provided for. I don't mind other workers benefiting but it costs me more now, almost twice as much more to have my family covered in the plan. Other than a few exceptions, everyone else seems to benefit from this new arrangement but because I haven't had a raise but I am taking a great deal less home so my family can have health cover.
I liked the previous company and so far I am not as impressed with the new one although the health care plan doesn't seem that bad. The new affordable health care plan initiated by my company meant that certain workers found themselves a lot worse off financially with additional co-pays and expenses. I am sure of this because just over 2 years ago when I had my little boy, the stay in hospital was completely covered by my insurance policy. Working out that same stay with the new plan would mean approximately 4,000 dollars would have to be paid by me.
You also have to bear in mind that this additional expense is just the hospital bill and doesn't include the additional work fees I must now pay. There is obviously a market for these schemes because more and more affordable health care options are becoming available. For workers in companies without health care plans and single mums for instance, this is a God send. Although these programs are a good idea for those less fortunate there are always people who want to abuse the system.
I feel sorry for those in genuine need of affordable health care who must look around and see others who are just sponges on the system: a financial burden to the state. Taxpayers, such as me, are contributing to the vast number of programs currently available. My employer definitely found advantages in finding a lower cost health plan provider for their employees! Having a reduced income seems to be the result of these work changes with only the company truly benefiting. If we are to help the worst affected, we need to start looking at long term options for Americans in providing cost effective, affordable health care.
