Skin treatment
There are millions of people around the world who suffer with acne (Zits); but that doesn't mean it's something that cannot be tackled. Research into skin care treatment has been advancing for some time now; now, some of these skin conditions are gradually being conquered. Despite the number of acne skin care products currently available on the market, they are broadly categorized into three distinctly separate groups: <UL TYPE="square"> *Drugstore or Internet: Preventative medication *Drugstore: Relief treatment *Specialized, on-prescription acne products </UL
Probably the largest part of the skin care market is products designed to clean the skin and inhibit the formation of acne; these products can be anything from skin cleansers to makeup removers. Whilst many sufferers use these products there are even more who just want to keep their skin clean and conditioned; often used by those who want to prevent future skin problems from occurring. Other acne skin care products, like skin cleansers for instance, are more specific about their job; they work by limiting the production of sebum/oil and prevent clogging of skin pores. Excess oil needs to be stopped from clogging the pores as this oil make it easier for bacteria to grow, exacerbating the condition.
Other skin care treatments can help exfoliate the skin; these can be bought easily over the counter or on the internet. They work by reducing oil plus other contaminants from the skin and in the pores; this can reduce harmful bacteria and stop their chance of growth. The growth of the skin care market has allowed even more specialized acne skin care products to be available without the need to visit the doctor. Treatments that are effective contain the ingredients benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid; these include creams, cleansers and peels that slow down acne formation.
It is preferable when you first start using this type of product to keep the concentration of it low, around 5.5 percent is best; alpha-hydroxy-acid based moisturizers are a safer skin care regime alternative if there is a problem. It might just be a case of trial and error to find an acne skin care product that works; however, if finding an effective remedy it is proving to be a problem then consult with your doctor, or skin care specialist. On-prescription treatments are prescribed by a dermatologist and can include ointments that can be applied on the affected area or oral antibiotics or just any topical ointment.
Your doctor can recommend that in order to extract the contents of the pustules that a small surgical procedure could be carried out; although this is a minor procedure, if it were performed by the person themselves it could result in skin damage. Hormone treatment might be suggested as hormone changes can cause skin problems; this type of skin care treatment has been very effective in many cases. Constant research has paid off, and whilst they cannot cure the condition, it is becoming easier to treat.
