Liposuction and Tumescent

Liposuction is most effective at removing localized fat deposits in body areas that do not respond to dieting or exercising; the use of this treatment is not designed to curb excess weight. Unfortunately, an unwanted side effect to this procedure is the return of the fat on occasion; this is usually from a different area to the one it was removed from.

Two basic techniques of removal are used; the tumescent technique and Ultrasonic. The most modern of these techniques is Tumescent and has become one of the most commonly practiced aesthetic cosmetic procedures in America.

With this technique, a smaller tube is used to remove the fat which helps limit the amount of bruising which normally occurs. The increasing use of tumescent liposuction is down to the method it uses which limits the blood loss seen by traditional techniques as it adds adrenaline to the solution.

Ultrasonic liposuction enables the removal of fat in areas that were previously unable to have liposuction such as the back, upper abdomen and male breast.

Every medical procedure has some element of risk and this is no different because when using the traditional treatment process the plastic surgeon is unable to see exactly where the probe is inside the body. The best advice when considering this course of treatment is to consult with the surgeon about the best and safest technique.

The liposuction procedure although relatively safe does carry some risk of side-effects but fortunately fatalities are very rare. In order to minimize the danger, patients will have a medical to ensure their health is good so the chances of complications are reduced. Keeping the wounds clean and free from infection after the procedure is imperative so plastic surgeons prescribe antibiotics to all patients during the healing process. Fortunately, fat removal techniques have improved a great deal in recent years.

By using a number of tiny injections, Lipo Dissolve, another process akin to liposuction, removes the fat from cellulite and related skin complaint sufferers. One other benefit of Lipo Dissolve is that it does not require any form of anesthesia and patients feel almost no pain whatsoever.
