Shedding off the pounds after pregnancy
Although not at the top of every mothers list when her baby is born, how quickly she will lose weight after pregnancy and regain her figure does come a close second to the health of her new born child. The pressure is always on as every day there are pictures of some famous mother who has regained her figure within a few short months of giving birth. This is an unfair pressure to place on regular moms who do not have the facilities afforded those with fame when they want to show the world that weight loss after pregnancy is easy and quick!
Most things to help with weight loss after pregnancy are not available to the regular person on the street who will have to face the challenge generally on their own. Besides at this point after the birth, a mother should be concentrating more on the health of her child and her own diet so she can feed her baby these days regaining her strength. The sort of diet that a mother needs shouldn't be more than two thousand calories a day incorporating a small amount of fiber; the food she eats should consist of:
- Half as carbohydrates,
- Approximately a third as protein
- Ten percent intake of fats
While this diet doesn't give a full one hundred percent, this is because everyone deserves a little luxury in their diet but not so much as to spoil the work you are doing to gain your old figure back. Even though a mother will have plenty to do it is still important that she does not forget to carry out some moderate exercise everyday which should also help increase stamina levels in addition to improving muscles that have not been used for some time. The idea is that you look forward to the physical activity and enjoy the feeling when it is complete so moderation is the key, otherwise it will feel like a chore and you will give up.
It is best to start things relatively easily but do not expect that your weight loss after pregnancy as quickly as someone else as it is down to your own genetic makeup and how many pounds you gained during the pregnancy. It is important that every mother knows that certain metabolic changes took place when the baby was born which can also have an effect on how quickly she loses weight. For optimum effect, losing weight after pregnancy should be gradual which will also prove to be safer; combined with the moderate physical activity will provide long term benefits.
The ideal situation of reducing body fat and regaining muscle tone after birth will take some time and this is not something that should be rushed. With careful planning, your weight and physical fitness level should improve back to its original state within a reasonable amount of time. All mothers should be aware that it is possible the last few pounds you are desperate to lose will not disappear until after the breast feeding has stopped.
