The Tumescent Method
Liposuction is a procedure in which localized deposits of fat are removed to re-contour one or more areas of the body; usually in the thighs, buttocks and abdominal areas, although it is not a weight loss treatment. The only problem with this procedure is that sometimes the fat returns some time later; but not necessarily in the region it was originally taken from.
The two most common methods to get rid of it are the tumescent technique and Ultrasonic. The Tumescent method is the most commonly practiced technique of the two main ways of removing unwanted fat from Americans today.
Because the tube that removes the fat is not as large it helps to reduce the bruising in the area which is why the recovery period is longer using the procedure as it requires a general anesthetic. Tumescent liposuction has, coincidentally, become the method of choice for surgery mainly because the adrenaline added in the solution limits the blood loss that is seen with traditional methods.
Ultrasonic liposuction allows fat to be removed from traditionally awkward locations like the thighs, upper stomach and back.
Every medical procedure has some element of risk and this is no different because when using the traditional treatment process the plastic surgeon is unable to see exactly where the probe is inside the body. If you are considering this type of treatment then discuss it with your cosmetic surgeon who will be able to give advice on the most appropriate method for you.
There is danger in every medical procedure and although liposuction is normally safe when performed by a professional, there is still a risk involved, even death, although this is very rare. Preparation for this type of treatment is imperative so a series of physical examinations are required to ensure that the risk to the individual is minimal. Patients are told to keep wounds clean after the procedure and given antibiotics to avoid possible infection at this vulnerable time. Cosmetic surgery is improving all the time, so are the techniques to perform it and methods to avoid complications.
Lipo dissolve another type of liposuction involves a series of injections of a compounded mixture of drugs into areas of body fat: including saddlebags, double chins, hips and other hard to reach places. Of course the greatest benefit to patients undergoing this process is the fact that no form of anesthetic is required and it does not interfere with other cosmetic skin treatments where surgery is not required.
