Forms of Menstrual Cramps Relief

Women often get to a certain stage in their lives when they honestly believe that their bodies are against them. Throughout their lives, many women are lucky enough not to suffer from period pains but menstrual cramps can be something they start to experience when they reach the menopause. The situation can be made worse for approximately one in ten women who suffer with PCOS or Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, a hormonal problem for women who are pre-menopausal. A few women are lucky and their pains hardly bother them whilst other can barely get out of bed.

If you suffer as badly as this you need to have a menstrual cramp relief remedy that you can rely on each month. Most women rely on taking a pill during this time which also seems the most obvious answer. Pamprin is probably the best known of these, probably because it is marketed purely towards sufferers of this condition. Now, it is true to say that some women do not like taking any type of oral medication but perhaps it's now time to think about that stance.

Why waste days of your life in pain when there is no need; think about all those things that you are stopped form doing. Even worse still, the cramps are often combined with bloating and sometimes, queasiness as well. Because I know how painful bad cramps can be, I have had to find other forms of menstrual cramp relief. There doesn't seem to be any consistency about it either, most months I have an awful time and then the odd cycle that is completely pain free.

There are times when nothing seems to give me any relief but someone suggested I try a heat pad on my stomach which worked quite well although sometimes it works better against my back. This might be something you want to try if you have found that pain relief pills are not the route you want to go. Whilst these ideas may be ok for some women, others that have regular painful menstrual cramps each month may need to do something more permanent. This is especially true if you find that you sometimes have to miss work because they are so bad which doesn't help your attendance record if it's a regular occurrence.

This situation really needs to be stopped as soon as possible so an appointment with your doctor to find another form of menstrual cramp relief would be a good idea. A doctor will know of other options available to you including the birth control pill, if you are not already on it, which can help relieve the pains. Obviously this would be a stupid option if you are trying for a baby but there will be other remedies you doctor can prescribe to help the cramp you feel each cycle. Whatever methods you do eventually try good luck in your search.
