Relieving the Monthly Pains

There are so many things you ignore when you are young but for every woman at some stage in her life she will firmly believe that her body hates her. The whole world over, most women suffer with menstrual cramp to some greater or lesser degree, irrespective of how normal their cycle is. For women who unfortunately have endometriosis (around 10 percent of women do) or even PCOS then the situation just gets worse. There are women who experience no discomfort at all when they are on their cycle and others for whom it is a dreaded time every month.

If you suffer as badly as this you need to have a menstrual cramp relief remedy that you can rely on each month. It's strange how your physician will often prescribe one of the most used remedies and that is a pill. Some brands like Pamprin are made just for this reason, but other pain relievers should work just as well. Now, it is true to say that some women do not like taking any type of oral medication but perhaps it's now time to think about that stance.

Why waste days of your life in pain when there is no need; think about all those things that you are stopped from doing. The cramps aren't the only thing that has to be endured either; the feeling of having eaten too much and nausea can also be a problem. After some time of enduring these pains I realized that I was only hurting myself and looked into other menstrual cramp relief remedies. There doesn't seem to be any consistency about it either, most months I have an awful time and then the odd cycle that is completely pain free.

Sometimes, my relief comes in the form of a heating pad which I normally use on my stomach, and other times it works best when placed on my back. This can be a good alternative to pain relief pills if you find they are ineffective or you just prefer not to take them. When you have painful and long lasting menstrual cramps each month, you may have to take more action. If this is a problem that affects your work attendance then you may need to do something about it before it damages your chance of promotion.

If this has happened to you, you should make an appointment to talk to your doctor about finding menstrual cramp relief. Many women find that the birth control pill is an answer and the doctor may even suggest this remedy if they know you are not currently taking it. Obviously this would be a stupid option if you are trying for a baby but there will be other remedies you doctor can prescribe to help the cramp you feel each cycle. You can get relief from those awful cramps if you try enough different remedies because it is only a matter of time.
